AssistancyFor Homeowners

Your house. Your decisions. Our legwork.

Assistancy keeps up with the maintenance, finds contractors worth hiring, and makes sure they do the work properly. You say what happens and what does not. Nothing gets done to your house without your approval.

This is not about what you can't do

You have run this house for decades. You know where the shutoff valve is and which company did the roof. That is not the issue.

The issue is that a good contractor is hard to find, three of them will quote three different numbers, one will not show up, and somebody has to be home on a Tuesday between eight and noon. It is a part-time job, and it is a tedious one.

Hiring us is the same kind of decision as hiring an accountant. The work still gets done your way. You just stop doing the tedious part yourself.

What we take on

The recurring chores

Gutters, furnace and air conditioning service, lawn care, snow removal, filters, and smoke alarm batteries. Scheduled and done, without you having to remember them.

Finding the right contractor

We do the searching, the vetting, and the quote comparison, and we tell you what we recommend and why. You pick.

Being there for the appointment

We meet them at the house, stay while they work if you would rather not, and check the job before anyone gets paid.

Sorting out the billing

We review the invoice against the quote. If a number changed or the work was not finished, that becomes our conversation to have, not yours.

When something goes wrong

A pipe bursts, the heat quits, a storm takes down a limb. One call to us, and we get the right person out.

Improvements, if you want them

A better-lit stairway, a sturdier railing, a shower you can step into instead of over. Only if and when you decide you want it.

You stay in charge

Bringing someone in should not mean handing over control of your house. Four commitments that make sure it does not.

Nothing happens without your approval

We recommend. You decide. No work gets scheduled, and no contractor gets hired, until you have said yes to it and to the price.

We will tell you when to skip it

Plenty of repairs can wait, and some are not worth doing. We will say so. We have no interest in selling you work you do not need.

You choose who hears about it

If you want your daughter copied on everything, we will do that. If you would rather she not be, we will do that instead. It is your house and your information.

You can stop any time

If this is not working, tell us and we are done. We would rather you stay because it is useful than because it is difficult to leave.

How it works

The first conversation is free and there is no obligation at the end of it.

  1. We talk

On the phone or at your kitchen table, whichever you prefer. You tell us what has been a nuisance. We tell you plainly whether we are useful to you.

  2. We look at the house

We walk through with you and write down what we see: what needs doing now, what can wait a year, and what it should cost. That list is yours to keep, whether or not you hire us.

  3. We get to work on what you approve

Only the items you say yes to. We handle the scheduling, the contractors, and the follow-up, and we tell you what happened after each one.

What we are not

We are not a home care agency. Nobody from Assistancy will check on your health, help you dress, manage your medications, or report on how you are doing. That is not our business and we are not qualified for it.

We look after the house. That is the whole job.
