Assistancy helps older adults stay safely in their own homes by handling the upkeep, the repairs, and the contractors, so the house never becomes the reason a parent has to leave it.
Aging in place usually fails for practical reasons
Not medical ones. A parent is doing fine, and then the gutters back up, the furnace quits in February, a step comes loose, and the shower becomes the most dangerous room in the house.
Meanwhile the calls come to you. You are two states away, trying to find an honest contractor for a house you haven't lived in for thirty years, hoping the person who shows up is someone you would trust alone with your mother.
That is the gap Assistancy fills.
What we handle
We are not a home care agency and we are not a handyman. We are the person who makes sure the house gets taken care of, and that the people who come to do it are worth letting in the door.
Safety improvements
Grab bars, better lighting, ramps, stair rails, walk-in showers, and wider doorways, coordinated with contractors who have done this work for older clients before.
Contractor oversight
We find the vendor, schedule the work, meet them at the house, check what they actually did, and handle the billing, so nobody is negotiating alone at the kitchen table.
When something breaks
A burst pipe, a dead furnace, a tree on the roof. One call reaches someone who knows the house and can get the right person there.
Regular home check-ins
Not medical visits. A walk through the house looking for the things that cause falls and emergencies: a loose rug, a dead smoke alarm, an icy walkway, a burned-out bulb at the top of the stairs.
You stay informed
After every visit and every job, you get a note about what was done and what we noticed, with photos, whether you live down the road or across the country.

Who we serve
Most of the people who call us are adult children, often living somewhere else, trying to help a parent who wants to stay put. Some are older homeowners who are perfectly capable and simply done chasing contractors. Both are welcome.
